“Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools” is a Japanese light novel series by Hisaya Amagishi that debuted on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” website in April 2018, and was later published by Media Factory with illustrations by Kei.
It has expanded to nine volumes and inspired two manga series and an upcoming anime.
A spin-off series titled “Lucia and the Loom: Weaving Her Way to Happiness” began in April 2021, featuring Dahlia’s friend Lucia, and has also been adapted into a manga.
Synopsis
Dahlia Rossetti is a competent magic tool maker who lives in the rich kingdom of Ordine, which is famed for its commerce and magical inventions.
On the eve of her wedding, her fiancé, Tobias Orlando, unexpectedly cancels their engagement, disclosing that he has a new girlfriend who has already moved into their intended house.
Dahlia, stunned by these occurrences, cancels the engagement with the backing of people around her and decides to pursue her love for manufacturing magical equipment by establishing her own firm.
During a regular material collection in the forest, she meets Volfred Scalfarotto, a bloodied man who is a member of the powerful “Red Armor” unit and plays an important position in the kingdom’s knighthood.
